What’s Tinder verification?

A security feature that tells others that you are who you claim to be. The checkmark means you’re the real deal and not a fake profile, bot, or catfish.

So what does verified mean on Tinder? That someone’s photos can be trusted to belong to the person who runs the Tinder profile.

In other words: Tinder’s verification symbol represents trust.

Doesn’t sound very sexy. But it makes you much more swipeable!

Important: Just letting you know I am currently letting guys use my Profile Checklist for free. It’s a simple fill-in-the-blanks code that shows you what to change about your profile. It’s the first step to getting all the matches you want. Get it here for free.

How do you get a blue checkmark on Tinder?

To verify your Tinder profile and get the blue check, you want to follow these steps:

Tap the profile icon. It’s at the top left of your Tinder screen.
Select the gray checkmark. Next to your name and age.
Hit ‘continue’. You’ll see a pop-up with the title ‘Get Verified’.
Place your face inside the oval or copy the pose. There are two verification methods, but both give you the same results.
Follow the prompts. Your selfie will now be compared to your existing profile photos using a combination of AI technology and human assistance.

How long does it take to get verified on Tinder?

Usually, Tinder verifies you within a few minutes. At worst, by the end of the day.

Is it worth getting verified on Tinder?

Hell yeah it is! Here’s why:

With all the fake profiles and catfish out there, the blue checkmark will get you:

More matches.
A better relationship with Tinder that will reward you with a higher spot in the Discovery profile stack.

I recommend verifying your profile the moment you’re done reading this article.

How does getting verified on Tinder get you more matches?

How does Tinder verification increase your matches? Simple. You’re more trustworthy!

Having the blue checkmark makes you a much safer person to match and chat with than someone without. After all, they could be fake.

That said… a blue badge is no guarantee you’re exactly who you say you are. Your name, age, profession, and so on could all be baloney.

But the verified profile has one big advantage:

You’re at least the same person as in your photos.

Back in the day, we all found our romantic partners through our work or social circles. That felt safe. Even if you didn’t know the other person, your friends did.

But today, science shows that most partners meet via online dating. Now your friends can’t vouch for your Tinder match.

You know who does the vouching now?

The verification badge!

That blue checkmark gives her the confidence to safely swipe you right.

And if you play your cards right, she’ll also feel more confident meeting up with you.

Does Tinder keep my selfie photo I have taken for Tinder verification?

Yes. But it won’t be shown on your profile. Tinder will keep your photo for as long as you have a Tinder account to see if your new photos still belong to the same person.

How to get verified on Tinder – Conclusion

While it is indeed another hurdle to jump over, photo verification is absolutely worth it. See it as another way to make you stand out from the rest.

Plus, you don’t want to give your potential matches any reason to be suspicious of your profile. Give them the confidence that they know who’s on the other side of the screen.

Matching is only the beginning though.
